1. The method of the joint
There are several common methods for PVC conveyor belt joints: mechanical joints, cold adhesive joints, and hot vulcanized joints.
The mechanical joint generally refers to the use of a belt buckle joint. This joint method is convenient, fast, and relatively economical. However, the efficiency of the joint is low and it is easy to damage. In the joints of PVC and PVG flame retardant antistatic conveyor belts, generally the products below grade 8 belt adopt this joint method.
Cold bonded joints, that is, cold bonded adhesives are used for joints. This joint method is more efficient and economical than mechanical joints. It should have better joint effects, but from a practical point of view, because the process conditions are relatively difficult to master, in addition, the quality of the adhesive has a great impact on the joint. So it is not very stable.
Hot vulcanized joints have proved to be the most ideal joint method in practice, which can ensure high joint efficiency, is also very stable, and has a long joint life, which is easy to master. However, there are disadvantages such as process trouble, high cost, and long joint operation time.
2. Joint of layered PVC conveyor belt
You can use mechanical joints, cold bonded joints, hot vulcanized joints and other joint methods as needed. Generally, cold-bonded joints and hot vulcanized joints adopt stepped structure joints.
3. Joints of PVC and PVG whole core flame retardant conveyor belts
Due to the special structure of the whole core belt, the joint is not easy, so most adopt the mechanical joint method, that is, the belt buckle joint. However, in order to ensure the effect of the joints, the belts of grade 8 and above generally adopt the method of hot vulcanization joints. The structure of the joints are finger joints. The thermal vulcanization joint process of PVC and PVG flame retardant conveyor belts is relatively complex, and the requirements for equipment are also relatively high.
4. Joint of steel cord PVC conveyor belt
The joints of steel cord conveyor belts are the most complicated of all conveyor belt joint technologies. Not only is the process more complicated, but also the most joint size parameters are designed. Different grades of products have different joint structures.
