The safety factor refers to the ratio of the rated tensile strength of the conveyor belt to the maximum working tension of the conveyor belt under steady-state conditions, which is an empirical data. In other words, the safety factor is an important parameter to ensure that the belt is continuously carried.

National norms of safety factor:

The national standard 'Code for Engineering Design of Belt Conveyor' GB50431-2008 stipulates the safety factor of the conveyor belt:

(1) The safety factor of fabric core conveyor belt, and the safety factor of cotton fabric core should be 8-9;

(2) Nylon, polyester fabric core conveyor belt, preferably 10-12;

(3) The safety factor of steel cord conveyor belt can be 7-9;

(4) When taking controllable soft start and braking measures for the belt conveyor, 5~7 can be taken

What happens when the safety factor shrinks?

The safety factor is directly related to our market: from the point of view of safety, reliability and long life, it should be larger, and from the economic point of view, it should be smaller.
